I hereby redelegate to you, as Vice Chancellor, Academic Personnel and within your area of responsibility, the authority to permit or refuse to permit use of the University name in accordance with the attached policy statement and the restrictions cited below.

This authority is restricted to use by UCLA faculty and non-senate Academic personnel of their University affiliation in outside consultative or commercial activities. You should consult with the Vice Chancellor for Research in determining whether a specific use is permitted.

Permission for UCLA staff employees to use their University affiliation in outside consultative or commercial activities remains with the Administrative Vice Chancellor, as per my redelegation. The specific authority to permit the use of the campus name in the manufacture and distribution of commercial products has been redelegated to the Executive Director of ASUCLA.

The Campus Counsel will be available to assist you and other authorized campus personnel in notifying individuals, employees and/or other organizations of the restrictions and in following through, at your request, if any legal action is necessary to enforce the restrictions.

This delegation is being reissued to reflect an organizational change and there are no substantive changes from the delegation being superseded. This authority may not be redelegated.
