Supersedes: New

Effective as of the date above, I hereby delegate to you, within your respective areas of responsibility, the authority to solicit and execute any amendments, modifications, or renewals subsequent to the initial award for the project titled "National Children’s Study Award" provided the general intent and purpose of the program remain unchanged from those originally approved.

On March 10, 1995, the Chancellor was delegated authority to solicit and accept extramural grants and contracts for research if the direct costs in one project year did not exceed $5,000,000 (UC DA 2036). This authority was redelegated to you (UCLA DA 250.09, dated August 14, 2006), subject to the restrictions, exceptions and instructions outlined in UC DA 2036 and the additional specified dollar amount limitations.

Because the National Children’s Study Award project exceeded the $5,000,000 limit, the President approved the initial solicitation and executed a contract on behalf of the Los Angeles campus with the National Institutes of Health in the amount of $14,674,318 for a sixty-month period commencing September 28, 2007.

This authority may not be further redelegated.
