Supersedes: UCLA DA 206.01 (Setting University Extension Fees and Summer Session Fees) to Dean, Continuing Education and UCLA Extension and Director, Summers Sessions, dated 11/9/2007.

Effective as of the date above, I hereby redelegate to you, as Interim Dean of Continuing Education and UCLA Extension, and to you, as Interim Director of Summer Sessions, within your respective areas of responsibility, the authority to set University Extension Fees and Summer Sessions Fees for non-UC students in accordance with the UCOP Guidelines for Implementing Course Materials Fees, reference (c), above.

As described in the Standing Orders of The Regents (reference (a), above), the President retains control over all fees, deposits, and charges that are required of students to be admitted to the University or to secure a degree, or otherwise are required of students as a condition of enrollment in regular academic programs, except for those fees requiring The Regents’ approval.

Authority to establish and set fee levels for miscellaneous user fees, administrative service charges and penalties, course materials fees, and deposits has been redelegated to Chancellors by the President and may not be redelegated (reference (b), above). These fees and service charges must comply with any applicable guidelines issued by the Office of the President. In addition, Chancellors are delegated authority to set Summer Session Fees for non-UC students and University Extension Fees, and this authority may be redelegated.

This delegation is being reissued due to the reissuance of the parent UC DA (reference (b), above) and there are no substantive changes to the delegation being superseded. This authority may not be further redelegated.
