Effective as of the date above, I hereby delegate to you, as Assistant Vice Chancellor, Housing and Hospitality Services and in your area of responsibility, the authority to administer all University-owned off-campus rental housing facilities including condominiums, apartments, private homes and any other such properties which may be acquired by the University in the future. This authority shall be in accordance with the UC Facilities Manual and covers execution of various agreements (except those containing provisions falling within the restrictions and limitations set forth in Standing Order 100.4(dd), or which require approval of The Regents because of specific policy memoranda issued from time to time), and construction contracts, and owner/tenant relationships associated with the ongoing administrative responsibilities for these facilities, as appropriate, including, but not limited to:
  • the execution and administration of construction contracts, design professional agreements, professional services agreements and construction management agreements within the prescribed limits of the authority previously delegated to you;

  • the execution and administration of rental and lease agreements for qualifying tenants including rates, terms, and tenant and University obligations;

  • performance of both routine maintenance and upkeep of facilities, and capital improvement projects for selected units for which you or your designee has been assigned project responsibility;

  • ensuring that all tenants are duly apprised of their rights and responsibilities and maintaining an effective landlord/tenant relationship.

The authority to make any major changes in the permitted uses of these facilities resides with The Regents.

This delegation is being reissued due to an organization change and there are no substantive changes to the delegation being superseded.

This authority may not be further redelegated.
