Supersedes: UCLA DA 580.01 (Writing Off Disallowed Claims Under Federal Grants and Contracts) to Vice Chancellor Morabito, dated 9/11/2007.

Effective as of the date above, I hereby delegate to you, as Administrative Vice Chancellor and in your area of responsibility, the authority to fund disallowed claims of any amount that arise from performance of sponsored projects. Costs charged to sponsored funds that will not be collected from the sponsor or that which must be refunded for reasons of unallowability, unallocability, a dispute with the sponsor, or other reasons, must be paid from University unrestricted funds. Funds received from the federal government in reimbursement of indirect costs are University unrestricted funds and may be used to fund such disallowed claims.

This delegation is being reissued due to the reissuance of the parent UC delegation which removes the $1,000 per claim limitation and specifies that University unrestricted funds must be used to fund disallowed claims. Any redelegation shall be in writing with a copy to me and those listed below.
