Effective as of the date above, I hereby redelegate to each of you, in your respective areas of responsibility, the authority to execute any amendments, addenda, or renewals of the revised agreement with the County of Los Angeles for the provision of teaching and related professional services by faculty members of the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health at Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Olive View UCLA Medical Center, and other County public health facilities and comprehensive health centers provided the general intent and purpose of the agreement remain unchanged.

In exercising this authority you will ensure that any amendments, addenda, or renewals of the subject agreement comply with the following provisions as specified in the President’s delegation letter and the two Regents’ actions of November, 1988 and December, 1988:

  1. the agreement may provide for automatic annual renewals for not more than four (4) successive years, unless earlier terminated by either party;

  2. either party is able to terminate the agreement at any time upon giving thirty days’ written notice;

  3. prior to each annual renewal, the County’s cash obligation, the University’s required hours of service, and the hourly rate of payment by the County will be subject to negotiation;

  4. procedures and timetables for provision of services and for billing are specified; and

  5. appropriate insurance and indemnification clauses are included.

This authority may not be further redelegated.
